Commercial Renovation | Grand Junction, CO | Under Construction
Client: Grand Valley Creative Alliance
Contractor: TIL Construction
Structural Engineer: Lindauer Dunn
MEP Engineer: Energy1
The ARTery transforms a 5,800sf existing building in downtown Grand Junction into a community-focused arts facility, combining ceramics, fiber, and printmaking studios with gallery, retail, and gathering space. The project is centered on creating a cohesive environment that supports a range of creative practices while remaining accessible to the broader public.
Working within the constraints of the existing structure, the design integrates diverse program requirements, from specialized equipment and ventilation systems to durable, highly functional workspaces. The organization of the building emphasizes clarity and adaptability, allowing different uses to coexist while maintaining a sense of openness and connection throughout.
We led the project through design, permitting, and construction, coordinating closely with consultants and the contractor. Much of the work involved navigating existing conditions and resolving technical challenges in real time, developing practical solutions that align design intent with constructability, budget, and long-term performance.
The project is currently under construction, with an anticipated completion of June 2026.
